North East BMX was established in November 2005 with the aim of  bringing bmx racing back to the North East.  United by a single goal to see the re-birth of the once vibrant racing scene the club set out working with local authorities and agencies at promoting the sport of BMX.  Developments at the Summerhill track in Hartlepool as well as construction work at other sites around the region made the need for a local club to take charge of these facilities a top priority.  Though young in terms of an actual club most of our members hail from the bmx glory days of the 1980's and have been riding for as long as most can remember.

North East BMX is keen to promote

riding of all age and abilities

NEBMX is affiliated with British Cycling, the sports governing body, which will allow us to continue to develop the facilities at Summerhill as well as promote bmx racing at other venues throughout the North East.  We aim to promote grass roots riding throughout the region and rebuild the North East racing scene.

Our club meets every Saturday at the Summerhill track when we hold practise sessions with our club coach, mini races and are soon to start regular gate practise.  Everyone is welcome to come along and have a go although helmets are compulsory for all wishing to join in.  The club has a limited supply for people to borrow should you need one but it is highly recommended you get your own and wear it at all times whilst using the track.

This website has been created to promote the club and any future events we may hold, I hope you find it useful and informative however if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me
